i have been writing a lot lately (yay!) and i'm in need of a much better digital writing experience on mac...do you have any favorites? a gentle, dark color scheme option is probably my top concern (i am very tired of being blinded by google docs...it's super harsh 🫠)

Several folks I know love Bear. I use Notes or Notion, but don’t love either; they’re just what’s around for other reasons. Also, good work on writing — keep it up! If you’re interested, @nateliason made an app called Prolific that helps track your progress.

Joplin is open source, cross platform, encrypted, and free. I have it synced across Windows/Linux/Android (it supports Apple devices too). I use it for everything these days. There are various dark & light themes, or you can make your own. https://joplinapp.org/

I have Bear and the Notes app both in dark mode I’ve been trying to write more in notes bc I know Apple Intelligence uses what I do in notes to understand my voice etc
