i like the optimism of @chainleft but this map is a bit less nice to look at the dark colour you see is the extreme right / Front National so basically they won everywhere except Paris and some major cities very sorry state of affairs really

right wing wins in rural left wing wins in urban it's been that way for 200 years uk election map forecast for 2024 looks similar even though the right wing is forecast to collapse

Parliament elections process in France has been outdated for more than 20 years. The number of voters is not aligned with the number of seats, there is also a “winner bonus” ending up with 80% of the people unhappy with the new assembly. But the members of parliament are the ones who have to work on changing that voting process… so nothing changes
