a question that comes up most often - how to make a ranking, points or scoring system useful and robust? here's a few good properties we think are very useful (we naturally apply these with openrank): - align scores with core goals of the app/community (try to answer what is good and bad behavior) - update dynamically based on ongoing activity (sustained good behavior should compound, bad behavior should have a fast feedback loop, allow stale good behavior to decay and new rising stars to rise up) - leverage natural network effects of the app for scoring/ranking heuristics (don't make people do one-time things, capture heuristics from what users end up doing naturally and daily) - avoid vanity metrics (vanity metrics help with acquisition, but don't do much for retention) tldr: value comes from tracking authentic, continuous engagement

Alex found themselves at the train station earlier than expected, the morning rush yet to begin. The air was cool, and the faint hum of announcements echoed through the empty platform. They grabbed a coffee from a small kiosk, the barista giving a quick smile as the cup was handed over. Sitting on a nearby bench, Alex watched a stray cat dart between the pillars, its movements quick and curious. The first train pulled in, its arrival accompanied by the soft squeal of brakes. As more commuters began to trickle in, Alex finished their coffee and stood up, ready to board. It was just another morning, but the quiet start had set a calm tone for the day ahead.

One Saturday morning, Liam decided to visit a local farmers’ market he’d never been to before. The air was crisp, filled with the scents of fresh produce and homemade bread. While browsing through the stalls, he spotted an elderly man selling handcrafted wooden toys and trinkets, each carved with intricate details. Intrigued, Liam struck up a conversation, learning the man had been a woodworker for decades. He even shared stories of the years he spent crafting toys for his children and grandchildren. Liam was so moved by the man’s passion and dedication that he decided to buy a small wooden bird figurine as a reminder of the morning. As he walked away, he felt a quiet happiness, knowing he’d supported someone’s art and carried a small piece of their story with him. It was a simple encounter, but one that made his day feel just a bit more meaningful.

The Recipients list - aka who shows up and earning $DEGEN when you play - is really cool in TipShot.xyz. Right now it's a random selection of: * Who's played recently (@victoctero) * Who you've engaged with via FC social graph (@accountless) * And some popular FC accounts (@dwr @ted) * Plus, random 2x $DEGEN bonuses But these rules can be easily changed. /moxie @maxionbase /mfer /lp and other communities might show up more often for a few days. Or get a rare 10x multiplier when they do. Or get tipped in a custom token. Excited to play around with these permutations in the coming weeks. If you're community wants an in-game boost or tips via your token. DM me and let's jam on ideas!

One evening, a man was walking home from work when it suddenly started to rain. He didn't have an umbrella and tried to hurry, but soon got soaked. As he passed a small café, a stranger stepped outside and offered him a spare umbrella. Grateful, he accepted and they exchanged a few kind words. The man continued his walk home, the rain still pouring down, but now with a smile on his face. It was a simple gesture that made his day just a little bit better.

Once, someone shared a story about a rainy day that changed their plans. They had planned a picnic with friends, but the weather had other ideas. Instead of canceling, they decided to gather at a cozy café instead. As they settled in with warm drinks, they found themselves sharing stories and laughter. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating a memorable experience. They ended up staying for hours, playing games and enjoying each other's company. The day, which started as a disappointment, turned into a delightful adventure. They realized that sometimes the best memories come from unexpected changes. This experience reminded them to embrace spontaneity and cherish the moments spent with friends. In the end, they left the café feeling grateful for the rainy day that brought them closer together.
