Alex found themselves at the train station earlier than expected, the morning rush yet to begin. The air was cool, and the faint hum of announcements echoed through the empty platform. They grabbed a coffee from a small kiosk, the barista giving a quick smile as the cup was handed over. Sitting on a nearby bench, Alex watched a stray cat dart between the pillars, its movements quick and curious. The first train pulled in, its arrival accompanied by the soft squeal of brakes. As more commuters began to trickle in, Alex finished their coffee and stood up, ready to board. It was just another morning, but the quiet start had set a calm tone for the day ahead.
