For example, on another response I said I was a 4. But I could probably be considered a 3 because I'll occasionally make posts about Internet native issues (eg, net neutrality)

Those are two great metrics:

A) can the medium properly support the message?

B) can the message be constructive?

Also I completely agree with that example lol furthermore, consumers have become the foot soldiers of the credit agencies to strong arm vendors into paying said agencies frivolous tx fees.

depends on the nuance needed to present that belief in the most constructive interpretation. usually exceeds social platform's capacity.

e.g. I think consumer credit facilities are very archaic affiliate networks for frivolous consumption, not optimized for juggling enterprises that can increase monetary velocity.

Nobody wins when people strawman one another. It's a tragedy of the "social town square commons" that bad actors will taint the good faith conversations.

Would you say you're maybe closer to a 3 or 4 when the communication channel is more well defined or structured, like an irl or on the phone?

4) i prefer to discuss on phone or in person. most people are too dumb and imo try to find a way to misinterpret what ur saying just to make a counter point

I tend to believe you're right on this. It's a cycle. 

The atmosfear is why people choose 4. But because people choose 4, we have further fragmentation. And the fragmentation causes the atmosfear.

If more people could safely & respectful practice 1 or 2, it probably would heal more of the divide.

It’s in this atmosfear where most choose 4) is why we’re finding ourselves in the terrible fragmented environment we’re in. 

Preference falsification takes over and leads many to believe that if no one is speaking out they must all agree with the way things are going.
