It’s in this atmosfear where most choose 4) is why we’re finding ourselves in the terrible fragmented environment we’re in. 

Preference falsification takes over and leads many to believe that if no one is speaking out they must all agree with the way things are going.

I tend to believe you're right on this. It's a cycle. 

The atmosfear is why people choose 4. But because people choose 4, we have further fragmentation. And the fragmentation causes the atmosfear.

If more people could safely & respectful practice 1 or 2, it probably would heal more of the divide.
