Ngl feels wild that I have 400k+ followers on here and have a bunch of posts that get less than 10 likes.

I know its kinda an impossible problem to solve but psychologically just feels weird.

Def on me to post better content but makes me not want to post niche stuff I care deeply about and instead just engagement farm topics that are more in the meta.

Anyone else or just me?

Should also share proof that I'm not completely washed and I still love FC and post on it multiple times a day and will continue to post on it no matter what

Because the entire reason FC was so enjoyable early on is that niche content was received way more positively and with a much wider convo than on Twitter.

I felt like I could post open and honest takes on things that were personal to me and not feel alone in those opinions.

To then have that come full circle where those posts don't get engagement makes me feel like they are invaluable again and to just bull post and talk about trendy topics instead.

I can post a deep thread about songs we're dropping on the label I'm super passionate about or my mixes that I put a ton of love into but instead a post of me buying my own MOXIE fan tokens which takes 5 seconds gets 10x more engagement

Likes aren't the end all be all but they def matter a lot in terms of encouraging you to post more or less of a specific type of content.

why does the number of likes matter when it comes to posting things you deeply care about?

comparable thoughts here, with 6k followers my casts get ~6 likes on average maybe. So 0.1%. 

The part of farcaster I enjoy most is finding the most pertinent or the most overlooked channels, and making banger posts there. Which twitter doesn't have.

Prob because you were on those auto-follow lists. So many folks just signed up but aren’t active

I have observed my own behavior- I like so so so many things where I don’t hit the like button. So I don’t get caught up on engagement metrics. I post my niche topics and I don’t get as many likes but I do it for me, and I think people appreciate it more over time. Esp when it comes to niche, it’s an opportunity to educate people and if they are learning about something new, it takes time before they know how to engage with it. It doesn’t make it less valuable.

I think you would end up getting more engagement long run by posting the niche stuff than farming the current meta

What has changed in the algo recently that should be tweaked?

I struggle with it cause I do feel like my feed is very engaging lately and its really nice to see newer accounts getting a lot more visibility and engagement

I make a conscious effort to reply to thoughtful comments.

Worth calling out that a lot of replies (from my POV) are very clear worded in a way to get a response to seemingly farm MOXIE.

Could be projecting but doesn't feel like honest questions or reactions - more like questions posed specifically to get a response.

No one wants to drop comments when 90% of the time they don’t get replied back, it’s meant to be interactive.

I agree and recognize this but its strange because I didn't choose or ask to be on it.

I'm super grateful for the opportunity and it 100% made me use the app more but now it feels like I consciously created fake followers or propped up my account more than it really should be all things considered

most are probably bots as u were on the auto follow list.

what channel u post in seems to have a huge effect on the exposure, at least from what i can tell

obv there are a lot of bots here but still you have a massive following-  i don't think it's your content tbh, i think it's more of a discovery and algo thing
