We seem to forget that the Greek techne (τέχνη) means "art," "craft," or "skill." In ancient Greece, techne referred to the knowledge of how to make or do something— and I think ultimately technology is a subset of techne. Techne is who we’ve always been. Space infrastructure, flying cars, and new AI models - maybe aren’t futuristic technologies, but rather as inevitable tributaries in the river of techne and humanity over time

Excited to share that I've joined https://fernhq.com as a Staff Software Engineer! 🎉 Fern makes it seamless to onramp, offramp, and process crypto payments. I met @gloria-chua @pooja and the rest of the team on Farcaster, and it immediately felt like the perfect fit. After four incredible years shipping impactful, high-visibility features for millions of users at Shopify including AI, I'm thrilled to dive full-time into crypto. The team and I have been working hard, and we just launched our developer API in private beta! https://docs.fernhq.com/ If you’re a crypto team that needs payments and you're interested in early access, feel free to DM me. I'd love to connect and see what you build! 🚀

Snapchain testnet went live at 4pm today. Over 20,000 blocks have been produced already with a million messages processed. This is real data from mainnet that is mirrored over to test Snapchain's integrity.

There’s one person who isn’t being included in the outpour of “thoughts and prayers” on social media, and that’s the air traffic controller whose voice can be heard discussing visual separation with the helicopter crew on the frequency. Yet, I hope this person is getting the support they need — it must be unbearably hard on one’s conscience (regardless of whether they are at fault), and it’s not helping that POTUS himself is implying that they were an incompetent and inferior DEI hire. As far as I’m concerned this person is a survivor of the accident (and the only one, unfortunately) and needs to be supported as such

the speed of SocialFi experimentation is so fast that i'm often asking wtf is going on and how is it any different (or better) than last cycle's hype-driven models. after spending more time than i wanna admit on SocialFi apps, here's how i'd break it down: 1. social trading apps like @frens and @interface (and vector.fun) make markets more fun, collaborative and instant in a way that's not possible with web2's siloed social graphs and centralized exchanges. 2. entertainment and fun is at the forefront of this cycle's best apps, like yapster.xyz and @ponder. gamification >>> 3. (some) creator tokens are finally starting to move beyond speculation with tribe.run looking much more like @hypersub than friend.tech. 4. onchain content platforms like @rodeodotclub and @abstractchain's make it possible so both creators and users monetize with fun incentives. one thing is certain though: this cycle of SocialFi is infinitely more user-centric than last cycle. full rundown at privy.io/blog/socialfi-resurgence

It'd be refreshing if those claiming to be environmentalists stopped contributing to landfill waste with their mass-produced products. Let's chat about environmentalism once you're living a zero-waste lifestyle.
