I'm away from home and am using a instapot to cook rice. It's turning Jasmine rice into sushi rice in texture. It's so sticky and really retaining shape. It's also a lot shinier. Has anyone else noticed this when cooking rice in pressure cooker vs rice cooker? Do you have a preference for the one you prefer?

I have a fancy rice cooker where you can select whether you want to make white rice, brown, congee, crispy... 😂 I recommend. It was 140 Euro, totally worth it If i put the jasmine rice on the sushi rice setting it turns more like sushi rice.. I love white rice sticky the jaoanes way. But sometimes for jasmine or basmati I prefer them more "solid".

probably because of too much moisture when using a pressure cooker this is the first time i heard someone used a pressure cooker to cook rice 😳 maybe try less water to reduce stickiness? I've always used rice cooker

Interesting! I’ve cooked rice with my pressure cooker and it turned out normal. It was specifically a rice cooking setting on the Chef iQ though. I used a rice cooker all my life until about 4 years ago, now I just use a pot on the stove. All (jasmine rice) came out the same for me 🤷🏻‍♀️
