*deep breath* Merkle Manufactory is a private, VC funded startup They are building: Farcaster - the protocol Warpcast - the client Farcaster is like email - a permissionless technical standard that any machine can post to/read from Warpcast is like gmail - an opinionated app used to access Farcaster protocol data

Except the companies and individuals running the email servers host all the emails sent and received by everyone. It’s a good analogy, but I think technically it’s not the most accurate. However, it helps convey the idea.

Are we using the email analogy because it is easier to understand than the HTTP protocol? I think http can be a better analogy because you can see what others have built using it.

I've been explaining to people that Farcaster is like a website, and Warpcast is like Chrome. You can also use Safari or Firefox to access the same website, but it might look slightly different.

i as well use this ethereum is like the internet - a decentralized chain anyone can build on and interact with metamask is like a web browser - a tool that lets you access and interact with the ethereum network and its decentralized apps
