My Farcaster Genesis Day was January 31, 2024. Would have been earlier but I was put off by the 5 USD fee 🙈 I also didn't cast much for the first couple of months. I think my "active" timeline is only about 6 months here. So far it's been quite an interesting journey!

I think I'm a "quiet caster" myself, and last week even more so (-33% it seems). I reply a lot more in comparison, and end up engaging with a nice range of different users, which I actively look for using a few clients and tools. I've been slowly curating lists for myself. Yes I'm not just a slow caster but a slow list compiler as well 🙃 I don't get paid 5 USDC, I actually pay for a few valuable tools like @supercast, but my quality of experience improves and that's priceless. I hope there continues to be a space for the quieter creators here.

Cultivating "gourmet weeds": what looks like parsley is actually a wild green and one of my favorites: ground elder. Tastes great raw on salads and cooked in risotto, quiche and many dishes. I cut my patches often so I can keep harvesting the tender new growth year round. In winter it goes dormant and in the spring the rhizomes send an abundance of fresh shoots. Some gardeners see it as a weed to be eradicated, but I find it a lovely ground cover and nutritious food that's easy to care for, so it's welcome in my garden. Have you tried it? It's not really available for buying so you will need to find a place where it grows wild near you.

I'm currently reading "Gory Details" by Erika Engelhaupt. Learning new words like indole and Charogne. "indole, a molecule found at low levels in white flowers like jasmine, but often described as fecal and even repulsive at high concentrations. You can experience it in a perfume called Charogne, which translates to “carrion.” On the market since 2007, it has some fans."
