Why is Jon Stewart glorifying tedious work? Most people aren't lucky enough to love their jobs. There is little dignity in many jobs, including many white-collar jobs. Why is Jon Stewart lamenting the loss of these awful jobs?

Big agree. As a customer service rep, I would be more than happy to hand my job off to an ai if it was advanced enough for the task.

Because he doesn’t get how economics works (“fixed pie fallacy” should be tattooed on his forehead as a misinfo warning) And because he is apparently ignorant of history—lamplighters were victims of electrification and coachmen were unfairly pushed out of good jobs by evil Henry Ford if he is deemed correct

What’s more, it is assumed these jobs are the be-all-end-all, that when they’re gone nothing will be available for those who previously worked at them There is literally no precedence in history for a technology that saves human beings from tedious labor resulting in anything other than a profusion of better jobs
