west village/greenwich village - handy location to get to all key tourist parts of manhattan, chill and safe, some of the best restaurants in the city

Did it last year. We stayed at millennium hotel 47th street? at times Square. One block walking to underground station. Perfect location and there is a Starbucks there as well to boot. Recommended. They also kick off the bus tours right there. Very convenient.

have them walk around central park, i prefer the upper west side of central park that’s starts by the museum of natural history, lots of beautiful views

Just got back from DC and delightfully pleased with it's walkability even if my feet didn't love it

Kind of a crazy question given the options, but I kinda like the W in Union Square. Just central to everything. Pretty low key, nice rooms.

upper west side isn't the most exciting area but its great for families, near two awesome parks (central park/west side highway area), has pretty decent access to all the places you mentioned, good stuff walkable. lived there for many years. not as exciting as staying downtown, but it all depends what you're lookin for

May as well be right in the middle of it in Mid-town. Times Sq. is not bad and central to everything.

honestly below midtown has gotten a little gross for family trips...stay on the west side above Columbus circle and take the ferry down to the battery park area for the statue and ellis island...highly recommend gov island too
