last bit is ironic bc now you have defeated the purpose of a thumbnail which is to grab the viewers attention but default is now to gloss over the slop thumbnails cuz they all look the same

yt thumbnail slop feels like it cheapens the quality of the content in the video you got real sophisticated thinkers, producing great stuff but then the thumbnail, ie first entry point to the content, is on the same playing field as everyone else w the same visual gimmicks

Would a Farcaster dev support bot be helpful? It would feed in Farcaster docs info + maybe replies from the team on technical questions. Possibly considering a side project that also hits on being useful so I can better dogfood the dev tooling myself

i'm not sure why i didn't try this before, but this is really incredible UX for analyzing a thread within the same screen i think a similar thing could be done with a frame, but right now that opens a new window which i'm not the biggest fan of maybe i should fund my ideal grok-like experience, but using farcaster

Something very on-the-nose about investing 500b to build AI infrastructure and calling it “Stargate” A bit like Reagan “Star Wars” or Japan’s “5th gen computing” Great tech enters history obliquely. Cul de sacs start in on-the-nose ways, even if they achieve great heights. Eg internet as arpanet was oblique, space program that stagnated with Apollo was on-the-nose. Crypto was oblique, “private blockchains,” CBDCs and e-ID schemes are on-the-nose. The Alexnet genesis event and transformers were oblique, “alignment” tech is on the nose. Landing reusable boosters was oblique. SLS is on-the-nose. On-the-nose history-making goals are for politicians. Tech is most interesting when oblique. In the last decade SV tech in particular has lost its obliquity. Ironically, it now seems to start with ever-more ideological manifestos the way weak “alt” tech visions used to. Big money is always insecure so goes on-the-nose. The small money p,aging on the margins otoh is worth keeping an eye on.

Hi Casters. If you read anything today, read this post by my friend Bethany on how she made an app for her kids to enjoy museums without writing a single line of code.
