This is a good decision. Preferenxe falsification is a big problem in society and we need to see people's honest views. It would be really cool if Farcaster follows it, by implementing ZK likes. Can probably borrow technology from zupoll. https://x.com/wanghaofei/status/1793096366132195529

My bet is that most if not nearly-all users on Farcaster want other users to see when they like their casts.

if a lot of people pay attention to what tweets you like - you become more cautious of what to like - but this indeed only effects <1% of the users I would guess.

i like people becoming more cautious about what they like; it makes their curation signals more meaningful!

I'm doubtful about this. I think it leads to virtuesignaling that becomes harmful even to the virtuesignaler. i.e. people like stuff they don't truly like, as a result their feed becomes catered towards this fake persona, delivering less relevant content.

I think this means you are for preference falsification. βWould Jason think this signal is more meaningfulβ can misrepresent my true wants.
