My bet is that most if not nearly-all users on Farcaster want other users to see when they like their casts.

if a lot of people pay attention to what tweets you like - you become more cautious of what to like - but this indeed only effects <1% of the users I would guess.

I'm doubtful about this. I think it leads to virtuesignaling that becomes harmful even to the virtuesignaler. i.e. people like stuff they don't truly like, as a result their feed becomes catered towards this fake persona, delivering less relevant content.
