Composability in all of its form. Technical (money) legos. Never is the internet more powerful than when people can build on top of each others work. The closing of twitter‘s API was the digital burning of the library of Alexandria. Crypto / Farcaster fixes this.

Imagine how different things will be in the future, being able to send a universal currency around the world. No more nation states, we're moving to a universal state. If the world shares a currency, can that fix the world?

Crypto (especially positive-sum mechanisms like Zora Protocol Rewards and DEGEN tipping) gives me real hope that within my lifetime it will be possible for vast numbers of gifted artists, writers, musicians, etc. to quit their day jobs so they can do intrinsically motivated creative work full time.

To be able to be solely responsible for financial literacy and independence from institutions that are trying to take as much as possible. Crypto removes the barriers of cost to open a bank account, the cost to send money across international boarders. Being a crypto native means being financially aware of the system.

Aside from material gains, what gets me excited about crypto currency is the technology, innovation and freedom that it allows. You control your own funds. The fact that to am extent, it is decentralized and seems to me as a better store of value than fiat.

Money is the most regulated, tracked, counted, taxed & gate-kept thing in the world. Crypto is simply applied cryptography (code) that makes transactions secure and permissionless. Direct P2P digital commerce is the raison d'etre and sine qua non of blockchain cryptography. For a commercial lawyer that's very exciting.

What got me initially excited (and still drives me) in crypto is the transparency of networks. Onchain = essentially an open source database. The sheer range of interesting global applications that are uniquely enabled by this (identity, provenance, social accountability) are what get me psyched about this space.
