therapy is the best investment i’ve made in myself highest recommendation - DBT, EMDR, helped me through several significant life changes over the last few years - it’s been a true privilege

Weird question – is therapy only for when one feels the need for it? I’ve never been to therapy, and thankfully never experienced anything that made me feel the need for it. But do people go to “preemptive therapy” like they go for annual medical checks even when in good health? And maybe uncover latent issues?

Depends what your intention of going would be? Therapy has helped me see my unconscious patterns. So I say HELL YES to therapy. Imagine a world where everyone was 100% responsible for there emotional triggers, so you know what was our own baggage and what was someone else's?

I think having a trained professional objective third party is a valuable tool broadly speaking - that said i’ve always gone to work through specific things (feeling emotions, being in my body, help processing hard things)

Part of it is just having someone to bounce ideas off of, or talk through “what should I do” scenarios, esp if you don’t otherwise have someone you can do that with. If money were no object some things I would do routinely: massage, chiropractic, therapy

I tried “preemptive therapy” for a month and treated it like she was my life coach. Thought it was a waste of money, it’s really expensive
