no better feeling in a conflict than thinking oneself so moralistically favored that deus ex machina is inevitable. Elon feels like a political underdog, in no small part b/c his ulterior goals fly in the face of physical reality, and after so much commercial success, the arbitrary imposition in near-impossible endeavors is profane by comparison. the remaining politics, e.g. freedom of speech/assembly, is wrapping this defensiveness.

People see the same oppression happening in most of these movies irl, they always side with the resistance in the movies, theyโ€™re moved by their stories but when being faced with the same thing, they do nothing and prefer to be oppressed. Itโ€™s sad really, but at the same time, theyโ€™re not always to be blamed, sometimes people are just powerless ๐Ÿ˜–

Just watched Hunger Games and Divergent series recently back to back. In both stories, the resistance political party is every bit as corrupt and they fuck everyone over in the end.
