Agree with your response. Although working in-house, I always have process work (alternative explorations, dead ends) in my back pocket to help justify the proposal if necessary. Helps build confidence and remind people the proposal is usually the tip of a much larger iceberg.

I'm typically exploring in relatively undefined creative spaces, and I've found that that usually requires at least 2, no more than 3 concepts to deliver to narrow down to 1. After that point, presenting 1 design vs several is important to save yourself (and client) time and sanity. In my early years, I was burned often by stakeholders wanting to cherry pick pieces from several designs to create a frankenstein'd design. Always helps to have more options in the back pocket to justify design choices if the stakeholder gets real pushy.

In Brazil the client hates if they have a single option. I always deliver 2 or 3. Otherwise they'll ask for it..

Interesting, I kind of agree with your view For me, presenting more than 1 vision complicates things for you, as it could show the client that you’re unsure of what’s expected of you, and worse, the client could think that he can keep demanding more variations and making more adjustments

I feel presenting one design is better You should always just give an ideas first and allow the clients add or subtract from it cause they’d do that regardless of the amount of work you put inside So at the end of the day you can make it to suit their requests Presenting multiple when they’d still have to cut all down isn’t the best tbh

Yep one design is enough because not all three will be used. You can create one design and then just adjust it based on the suggestions and feedback you'll get 200 $farther

Agree with your take. Only present more than 1 design if the client has given little to no direction. Otherwise, you look sloppy imo.

id prefer to see multiple as sometimes you duno what you want but being unpolished is fine imo , can always be polished when both parties are happy

I feel it’s proper class. That way you don’t get sucked into shooting sporadically and even end up missing the target. You get the analogy? 😂😂

Very smart. I usually go for 2-3 polished ones so I’m constantly altering and running around and at the end no one is happy. Especially the overworked exhausted poor me.

If you present more than one design. You clearly can’t interpret the structure well - this is what the client would think. But sticking to one design and explaining your reasoning shows professionalism. 👍🏾your point is valid.

Presenting 1 polished design, better to concentrate on and make sure one design looks really good than to create 3 rushed ones that don’t look as good imo.
