Collectively? Yes, absolutely. The shit that gets funded are things that will centralize power and access again. Web2 mindset has proliferated Web3. Ooh, new fiefdoms to create!

Those who build sustainable infrastructure will continue to survive, and those who don't, won't 🤷 My mental model of web3 is the most robust and sustainable infrastructure we can build, so I don't worry about other people doing it wrong. The good parts will get forked out and the bad parts will be built better.

Yup, people (the general public) want ease over decentralization. They want it all; if they can't have it all, they will easily give up privacy and decentralization first.

I don't think web3 was firmly with the plot to begin with in 2020. Plenty of consistent crypto builders so I think we can lay web3 rest and focus. 🙏🏻

There’s always a lot of people doing things in crypto who don’t care about those principles. Are there people you are seeing who used to care about those principles, but now don’t anymore?

Moxie Marlinspike may turn out to be right, yeah. But it’s a guarantee he’s right if we concede that ground. Let’s not.

Seems like centralisation is necessary on the beginning.. But some drag it for too long

This debate happens every so often - in the end a large outage of a centralized network will occur casting doubt on whether users should have ignored the red flags

I think a great deal has been lost to blind loyalty and popular trends (including art) but there’s still culture and awesomeness here.

Currently, most regular users do not seem to care that much about decentralization. Build acknowledge it and use it to their advantage, thus going from a more centralized product before slowly decentralizing it. This is so that the product has a better user experience while still being mostly centralized, and they can slowly come up with solutions to not sacrifice the user experience while decentralizing.
