I don’t know many home schooled kids so genuinely interested, how do you account for the 8 hours of in-person social interaction/collaboration with other children you get with public/private school? Personally, I found that to be just as important as the subjects I was studying.

I don’t have kids yet (24M) but when I bring up this idea to my friends they get triggered IMO the amount of socialization kids get at large schools (100+ in a grade) and colleges is v overrated, esp in the age of the internet (global village) Super interested in the pod model

Surfacing this first by saying I don't have children, yet. However, I had a colleague leave our company to start teaching at https://www.nuevaschool.org/ —to me, this is the dream schooling experience I'd want for my future kiddos.

A truth I think most people would agree theoretically, but not physically is that we should all be taking risks. There are constant risks and these are problems. If we don’t take risks, they channel down to other people and eventually our children.

https://articles.sequoiacap.com/the-rule-of-3-and-10 Rule of 3 and 10 When you go from 1 person, to 3 people, to 10 people, to 30, to 100, etc — everything breaks at each of those steps. Think it’s a really useful heuristic to keep in mind for all sorts of areas.
