TIL Uruguay's mortgage credit to GDP ratio is 6x smaller than Chile's given that Uruguay has the highest GDP per capita in South America and the largest relative middle class (60%), does this make sense? or is the mortgage market in Uruguay poised for significant growth?

i've taken a deep interest in real estate in Uruguay lately not many realize that GDP per capita there has tripled in the last 20 years and is now comparable to Greece and many other European countries i was in Uruguay in February and it actually feels a lot like visiting Europe

@benersing @jess - i think /venturecapital may have two distinct audiences: -founders who want to raise funds and connect with VCs and VCs who want to connect with founders -VCs who want to learn about fund formation, raising from LPs, regulatory, and the business of VC wonder if these should be separate channels?
