Please shill me your favorite carry on roller luggage bag that's <6.3 lbs. This fella has lasted me 10 years. 🫡🧳 https://www.target.com/p/swissgear-checklite-ultra-liteweight-20-carry-on-luggage-charcoal/-/A-14555653

i use a duffel, so i have no recs but I'll just say I don't like the hard shell trend lately that means you can't easily access anything in the bag. defeats the purpose of a carry-on for me

+1 for team duffel! if i'm traveling solo and it's <1 month, it's almost always backpack + duffel bag

fits anywhere, never been asked to check it at the gate, and it's all-terrain for creative ways out of the airport 😄

I was thinking I'd look cool and get a lite hard shell until I learned last night about the half clam shell opening making it hard to open the top half in tight spaces. Function > aesthetic. I don't understand why it's not possible to have a hard shell with a thin depth lid. Seems like we 100% have the technology.

I enjoy having a roller bag for longer walks. To your points the duffel is great for grabbing it and going on buses, metros, etc. This is why I'm downsizing my Swissgear Checklite above and increasing my backpack from 13L to 25-30L (Depending on the size that fits as a personal item) to balance things out.

agreed!! i find the clam shells more difficult to pack anyway. I'd rather just have one big space so i don't overpacks two sides and have double the squeezing effort required lol
