I think they're just memecoins that capture the essence back (or at least are closer) to what Dawkins originally meant when he created the term 'meme' as a unit of culture. Not to say for example Dogs can't be culture, but they're more emblematic than the actual culture of being a degen.

‘culture coins’ is the best description i’ve seen so far. didn’t like the ‘scenecoin’ term. also think ‘culture coin’ loses some ‘meaning’ as it gains more utility: $higher > $degen $enjoy in terms of ‘culture’ whatever that means still confused as to what develops a token’s culture
