A book that sort of combines mystery and science fiction: The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. Also, Titanium Noir and Gnomon, both by Nick Harkaway

Anything Michael Farris Smith has written. Jordan Harper’s latest is great: The Last King of California. Big fan of Real Bad Things by Kelly J. Ford too.

My favourite of the last 10 years is Terra Ignota trilogy by Ada Palmer. The 1st book is called “too like the lightning” and was nominated for the Hugo award. Ada is a history professor and has created an extraordinary future that is anchored in the past specifically the renaissance. Mystery, philosophy , its gold

I love the Silo series by Hugh Howey. If you're into dystopian stories, it's awesome.
