new zora model is different from what we have seen so far and it causes disappointment but imo it's the purest thing we had so far: a picture has a marketcap people will be mad that they can't profit off of someone's brand the way they could in the world where everyone is supposed to have max 1 token and they are supposed to promote it all the time (btw it will be the same list of people who made money on $ANON while producing no work) but the vibe will change once something organically goes to $1m and then to $10m and suddenly it will create a new tradable meta and people will be able to trade it again

The worst thing about Farcaster is that false expectations often lead to superficial friendships. If your interactions are driven by the hope of personal gain or profit, it’s better not to make any effort to connect at all. Genuine support holds value, but anything less is meaningless. If you’re an artist, it’s time to reflect on your behavior and stay committed to your professional path.

Let's be the voice of the community they have tried to build! Filtering is undoubtedly a necessary tool for any project to grow and improve its objectives. However, when specific rules have already been communicated to users, they should be reviewed based on community feedback and surveys. Implementing sudden rule changes without considering prior commitments can harm both the project and its users. cc @jacek

I see what you're saying but let me give a counterpoint: Do you think it's good for a team to not trade for an awesome player because they are afraid that some current players (who they like) are going to be upset about having to ride the bench? In my view, how the team as a whole is doing (US) is ultimately what's going to be better for everyone. Big innovations really do trickle down. And what hurts now will be to our benefit in the coming years.

PERSONAL UPDATE: After an amazing 3.5 years, I’m leaving a16z to work on something new (more on that below). It’s been an incredible experience getting to work with our portcos alongside some of the smartest people I know. To the entire a16z team, especially @cdixon and Ali and the rest of the deal team: thank you for showing me what having a truly world-class culture means. You make a16z special. To all the founders I’ve met and worked with: it’s been an honor to be a part of your journey. I’ve learned so much from you and am excited for the things to come. So what’s next? I’m joining the indomitable @samrags and @rfs to build Merit Systems. We are building tools, markets, and mechanisms to create an entirely new economy for software creation and contribution. Stay tuned for more information and announcements in the coming weeks. It’s time to build.
