i would highly encourage to spend 1 week or a month if possible there. there is so much ground to cover that even 1 month wouldn’t suffice.

THE most insane place on the planet for people in hw and electronics. you can almost find anything, here, all at once. they not only have electronic parts supply, but they also have: - wholesale bulk buying - ICs - freight forwarding cos - repair shops https://x.com/jrurbanenetwork/status/1772649376264949996

for context, we have 1 chip fab owned by ISRO. china has 44 operational and 25 in the making. once chip fabs come, we can locally produce electronic components and reduce chinese import dependency. read the x thread for the terms. https://x.com/mryalamanchi/status/1751970344519209241?s=46&t=Ce6kGmQCJ6E7qZm1V2yeYA

optimism comes from knowing that most countries realised the dependency on china during covid’s chip shortage saga and the search for alternative manufacturing countries. we have almost everything except chip fabs, which is great missing piece in semi-conductor supply chain.

skepticism comes from knowing how: - china runs their manufacturing shops 24x7 with multiple shifts - chinese govn. gives subsidies for manufacturers to produce cheaply and compete with world (check china’s steel scene) it’s not “cheap labour” anymore.

i am always a skeptic about india competing with china in semiconductor. but optimistic about us having a foot in the door in the semiconductor world stage.

it’s funny when i tell people about the context in which dune was setup. butlerian jihad and butlerian prohibition. they thought it was some sci-fi e/acc movie 😂

duh. @blrxzo team have setup a residential hardware hackathon in Bangalore. ~14 fellows will hack on hardware projects for 7 straight days. finish mini quests in the process of completing the prototype. in-house mentors to guide you through, when required. workshops/talks from hardware co. founders, meet & greet.
