i am always a skeptic about india competing with china in semiconductor. but optimistic about us having a foot in the door in the semiconductor world stage.

skepticism comes from knowing how: - china runs their manufacturing shops 24x7 with multiple shifts - chinese govn. gives subsidies for manufacturers to produce cheaply and compete with world (check china’s steel scene) it’s not “cheap labour” anymore.

optimism comes from knowing that most countries realised the dependency on china during covid’s chip shortage saga and the search for alternative manufacturing countries. we have almost everything except chip fabs, which is great missing piece in semi-conductor supply chain.
