. In addition, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission's future handling policy for virtual asset trading platform license applications is as follows: the Securities and Futures Commission will conduct on-site inspections, and applicants will need to agree with the Securities and Futures Commission on improvement actions based on the inspection results; after implementing the improvement plan, the Securities and Futures Commission will formally issue licenses to applicants and allow them to conduct limited business; the Securities and Futures Commission will work with these newly licensed platforms to hire an approved third party to conduct an external review. After the review is completed, these platforms will be allowed to operate their businesses with the restrictions lifted.

According to the official announcement, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission is implementing a rapid licensing approval process to handle applicants for virtual asset trading platforms that are deemed to be licensed. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission expects to issue the first batch of formal licenses to applicants for virtual asset trading platforms that are deemed to be licensed by the end of this year. At the same time, the Securities and Futures Commission is setting up a formal advisory group for all licensed virtual asset trading platforms, which is expected to be launched in early 2025.

From the Random Useless Crypto Knowledge Files: Back in 2018 the Avalanche Team was going to launch an EVM chain called Athereum which was a full system state clone of Ethereum, using Snowball consensus instead of Nakamoto consensus. The Avalanche's team was called "Team Rocket" because those were the bad guys in Pokémon trying to stop "Ash Ketchum" who's Japanese name was Satohsi.
