spent the weekend with my granddad, he is 85 now and got married at 25 he started the family in a poor, socialist country, in a depth of the cold war, with no real career prospects or financial security average 25 year old men these days are 10x better off and don’t even consider starting families feels backwards

We are going backwards. Everything changed, my granddad was saying that “one day you gonna miss this, so be happy with what you already have” I remember days where he was telling me stories how it was before. Maybe they didn’t have internet and tons of money, but they were so happy spending time together with friends and family - doing little things.

This is common is our country. My grandfather was married at 22 and my father was at 24. I also married at 27. Wdyt is it better or not?

I think nowadays guys are not that better settled than the sixties. Buy a house in 2024 is freaking difficult if you don’t have already a strong base. I married at 24yo with almost nothing to give but the mentality in the 90s was still closer to our parents. Now I see a big gap between our opportunities back that times, and guys born in the 2000. More your life is frugal more you think to marriage, more your dreams are bigger more the marriage is just an annoying formality.

the community really expects much from men these days… expect men to have it all at 25 People putting pressure and posting on the internet that “ I made my first million at 23”….. all of these contents just make some men engage in unlawful activities in order to meet the expectations of the society Hope you had a great time though

really? it makes sense to me— come home from hell and want a family, not much else to do, no global connection, cheaper homes and whatnot my little brother had twins with his wife and i think he is 25 or 26– but that comes from nesting back at our home town not traveling the country on more singular priorities
