he started the family in a poor, socialist country, in a depth of the cold war, with no real career prospects or financial security

average 25 year old men these days are 10x better off and don’t even consider starting families

feels backwards 

We are going backwards. Everything changed, my granddad was saying that “one day you gonna miss this, so be happy with what you already have”

I remember days where he was telling me stories how it was before. Maybe they didn’t have internet and tons of money, but they were so happy spending time together with friends and family - doing little things.
