comment on this as a 20 something with a developed prefrontal cortex (i have skin in the game) "figure out what you want to be when you grow up" is the most important piece of action you can take probably most important challenge and it takes years to figure out you can respect zuck, dhh, @fredwilson.eth or karpathy at the same time and want to be like all of them but their lives, lifestyles, families, problems and stories are completely different and probably not even applicable to yours so you really need to figure out what end goal suits you the best and be very focused on what will help you achieve this particular one

I think it's hard to figure out what you want to be. I think what you like and what you want to do are two different things. But there are things your heart wants to do, right? If you think about it one by one from there, you'll find it.

Is it horrible or too late if at this stage, I still sometimes get confused about what i want to be (i still have a goal in mind which I’m pursuing) But sometimes it gets confusing, man. The journey is never so smooth.

I'm not a 20-something. I'm a 40-something. I'm still "growing up." I ask myself every year, "What do I want to be when I grow up?" I wanted to be a perpetual student, so I became one. It took time, gradually built up a ride-or-die audience, and some stellar social media community building skills along the way, got to where I needed to be, and resumed the degree I paused 20 years ago. I continue to ask myself what do I want to be when I grow up because I am always growing.

Bit of a personal question and I hope I’m not intruding But what’s your age range Woj? And I personally don’t think it’s so easy to figure it out young Life happens and can just take you somewhere else completely I never thought I would be in the crypto space or even my irl job I honestly didn’t see myself doing it but things just worked out the way they are right now

I'm just entering my 30s and I think I'm on the right track with my goals in real life and my career. But I'm only second year in this crypto world, so I'm still learning, so I don't have a clear end goal. Every day is new and there is so much change here that I feel like my daily goal is just to "survive". I know that's a very bad goal, but I'm in the process of learning through survival, which will help me set my end goal. Anyway, thanks for the remind.

I totally agree. I’ve been thinking along the same lines lately—everyone’s life is so different that trying to follow someone else exactly could actually be counterproductive. In the end, I’m realizing that finding a goal that suits me and figuring out how to achieve it is what’s most important. It’s not easy, but I’m planning to take my time and think it through.

You're emphasizing the significance of self-discovery and finding one's passion or purpose in life, particularly in relation to the prefrontal cortex's role in decision-making and planning. The phrase "figure out what you want to be when you grow up" is often seen as a childish question, but you're suggesting it's a crucial and challenging question that can take years to answer. It requires exploration, reflection, and experimentation to determine one's values, interests, and long-term goals.

What if you picked what you want to be and when you try it out, you find out you find out you don’t really want it or aren’t really happy and you already went to college and you’re already in your thirties what do you do?
