MAHA was a smoke and mirrors thing created to win votes, it clearly seems. Some of it I don’t care about (you were always on your own with seed oils and that’s just the way it is) but umm … omg? https://x.com/Lewis_Bollard/status/1882585377401459107

The industry is so consolidated, the margins are so minimal - that the big companies need to fight for anything that prevents added costs. Industrial pork is depressing AF, and tastes like nada Unfortunately the market pits pork v beef v chicken. And the chicken industry has led the race to the bottom price wise for 3-4 decades. It’s depressing. Yet our society can afford decent pork on scale. isn't that a contradiction? a competitive industry has thin margins, a consolidated industry (e.g. monopoly) does not two non-mutually exclusive ways to solve this afaik: 1/ consumer education (about the health benefits of animals raised with QoL) 2/ regulation i believe eggs have actually been a bit of a success story with the various ratings related to sq ft of free space etc (pasture raised vs cage free vs ..)
