So apparently the new vocabulary alpha is that these days "games" just means "gambling", and so if you want to talk about actually interesting games you say "e-sports"

Sports are “actually interesting” to many people (including me). But 99.9% of people can not be in the arena — ie, playing, owning a team, being an executive. Having “skin in the game” is a way for more people to feel a part of the game; to prove their insights to themself and others.

Play-to-earn isn't helping this. We need to push play-to-own instead.

Interesting shift in terminology, Vitalik! It’s fascinating how language evolves. While "games" may increasingly imply gambling, "e-sports" highlights the skill and strategy involved in competitive gaming. Always good to stay updated on the latest vocab trends. 🎮💬

That’s how you make a distinction of what’s more serious and what’s just gambling. Heard at ETHPrague

This started quite a while ago. In Malta, Europe's hub for glorified casino companies/conferences, everything is promoted as "gaming" (all the signage, all the laws, all the terminology) for at least a couple decades (referring to casinos/lotto/fantasy sports/etc). Maybe this is gaming's "hacker" era.

Weird way of putting them imo. I'm too old to call games, e-sport I guess. But I'm willing to learn lol
