Exactly - one of the first things they gave my son after he was born was bottle of baby formula which might as well have been Pepsi, and this was at one of the 'renowned' centers for maternal and neonatal care on the East Coast

My wife and I were shocked when we realized that basically all baby formula have high fructose corn syrup in it 🤦‍♂️
Eating well in the US is a freaking challenge!

Europe has what is referred to as a nutrient and promotion profile model for infant and toddler foods - basically guidelines

The US has no nutrition or promotional guidelines for infant and toddler foods - literally nothing

So the study used the NPPM model from Europe, which has been rigorously studied and tested, and tested commercially available infant and toddler foods in the US against that framework

US food on average is dogshit, so the results are not surprising
