The geth team is hiring 👀 AFAIK, this is the first time they’ve had a public job posting..! If you’ve ever wanted to contribute to core Ethereum development in a context where your only concern is what is best for the long term health of the network, this is for you 🫡 https://jobs.lever.co/ethereumfoundation/8d9b1823-ba67-4195-a673-e11a85a48d62

I think so, by making parallelizable transactions cheaper, you can encourage developers to think about sharded designs in order to stay competitive with others. Once the first dapp uses a sharded design, others will follow to provide the cheapest service for their users (similar to the gas golfing we're seeing on mainnet)

I recently wrote down some ideas on how to built a high throughput L2. Some of the design decisions that I would take (and that I suspect other rollups take as well) and why they can't be done on mainnet Ethereum. Check it out! https://mariusvanderwijden.github.io/blog/2024/07/12/L2s/

Why would vitalik.eth be unclear? Its eth mainnet and should be resolved with mainnet. vitalik.base.eth should be resolved like this: base.eth resolved on ethereum mainnet, vitalik.base on base ENS resolver. I thought this was how ENS is intended to be used. You can add optional fields to base.eth to help the reolver figure out where to resolve the subdomains afaik. I recently had a great conversation with @matoken where he explained how they are thinking about this. I think overloading the ENS with useless information about the chain etc. will impact UX significantly

The only way I see the market not pricing the odds correctly is, if people are using the prediction market as a hedge. It's kinda weird that this is not the case here, since Trump seems to be the pro-crypto candidate, so I would bet on Harris to hedge against her winning. Maybe its really just manipulated for marketing...

Isn't what he's doing exactly helping the market to find signal? He's buying Kamala, because he believes its undervalued. So his behavior should stabilize the market and inform a more accurate decision.

When we worked on ProgPoW, we saw some numbers from Bitmain that they bought enough chips/memory modules to build Ethash ASICs to overtake the network. Fortunately, by the time they deployed their ASICs, more powerful GPUs came out, rebalancing the scales

I finally wrote up my thoughts on EOF. https://mariusvanderwijden.github.io/blog/2024/07/12/EOF/ I will keep working on the EOF, implementation in geth, because I don't want to undermine the process.

Just noticed that eof requires both a new transaction type as well as a precompile

I've spent the last hour trying to rebase @lightclient's eof branch on master and started looking into what work remains to make eof work on geth. It looks like we have 5 out of 19(?) new opcodes implemented and maybe half of the other eips in the Mega-EOF spec.
