If someone you follow casts in a channel, do you want it in your home feed: 1. Always 2. Only if you follow the channel 3. Other Warpcast does (1) today, but curious how people feel as channels have become more prominent.

btw, i thought about this more and i revise my comments: (1) To make channels feel more like communities vs. tags, i think it could be good experiment to provide option when casting to (a) only cast to channel, or (b) also cast to followers This would get more users thinking about some content being channel specific

Iβ€˜m reminded of Facebook in 2010. There was content in a general timeline & content on walls which were shown on timeline too. Good! These days, people are just much more active - as if it was a private chat no other person has to read. > now 1 + regulating noise > soon 2 when content is more community-specific

My ideal algo would be: If I don't engage with posts from the someone, seeing their casts should logarithmically (slowly) trend towards 0% chance of seeing them. Same idea for a channel I follow. Conversely, if I start engaging, it would exponentially increase the chance of seeing them in the feed again

Channels currently feel more like tags than communities So I should see anyone I follow in my home feed and people who follow that tag should see it as well

Only if I follow the channel, 2 It’s super annoying when I see casts in channels I’ve explicitly decided to ignore; with only 100 ish channels, any channel I don’t follow is in this category. But that doesn’t scale Maybe the first time it happens, ask β€˜do you want casts from this channel’

1. Always (unless channel is muted) I follow people and want to hear what they have to say. That doesn’t happen if the channels become siloed. In my opinion, channels have already fragmented the conversations.
