imo the problem that Zora faces right now is similar to the one Farcaster has: not enough interesting and diverse content Once they get more creators, the concept of minting posts will be obvious in hindsight

Don’t think it’s a supply problem, it’s a demand problem, also nothing stopping Instagram from adding tips

Mints aren't tips though. Enjoy is an actual tip, mints are an investment. That I can sell tokens, even for a loss, means it's a totally different mechanic

Even worse! People don’t want to invest in posts, way too midcurve for most, especially if it means they might lose money

Agreed “investing” in posts is way too much cognitive effort for the average consumer

Why are we talking about the average consumer though? I didn't care about them, most creators don't either. We care about the people who support us, not through likes, but dollars

There aren’t that many of those people though? Look at web 2 equivalents, it’s not because the tech isn’t there, it’s because there’s not enough demand Not a dig at you specifically but collecting art and supporting artists just isn’t as mainstream of an activity as the crypto industry makes it seem and I don’t think bringing things onchain changes that

average consumer is a losing battle. focus on true believers then quickly adapt as your user needs change.
