DHH is a master of stating his batshit opinions as universal truths, like arguing that typescript is bad (https://world.hey.com/dhh/turbo-8-is-dropping-typescript-70165c01), that CI should be left to developers' machines (https://world.hey.com/dhh/we-re-moving-continuous-integration-back-to-developer-machines-3ac6c611), that cloud isn't good for companies with predictable workloads (https://world.hey.com/dhh/why-we-re-leaving-the-cloud-654b47e0) Passkeys aren't perfect. There's things that can be made better about them (and some of this is Google/Apple infighting drama). But they are getting better, consistently, and his alternative suggestion of "if you need the extra layer of security, is to lean on email for the first login from a new device" is the rare kind of opinion that made me literally say "what the fuck" out loud when reading.
