This happened to me when I was in a Coffee-Alcohol Loop: Had a lot of coffee during day; needed a couple drinks at night to break out of the stimulation mode; would fall asleep this way, but the sleep is exactly like you describe. So I’d have some coffee to power through the next day…… Etc etc.

Same. Plus weed and ADHD meds. Best antidote I’ve found is a week cold turkey with minimal work commitments and other screen time. First 3 days suck then things start to recalibrate

Alcohol is the worst for sleep. It effects the REM sleep so you don’t get good sleep with it. You just get stage 1 sleep. A night cap is myth. Cannabis is the same. If you ain’t dreaming, you ain’t getting good sleep!
