I want to get behind something like this for Cali but it’s hard to get past the cynicism & inaccuracies. Ex: right == working class The full working class has heavily leaned left for at least a century. Since the 60s, only the white working class became the exception, for one sadly obvious reason.

I really liked this intro. Read it back when it came out. I did have some minor issues with it, like the point - "Elon should be a national hero". Not trying to diminish Elon's achievements but there are a lot of people in tech who wouldn't want to agree with this.

Gray Tribe here gives Koch brothers libertarianism to me. Where is that in all of this? They are huge. And the Koch’s have not been afraid to align with Red Tribe, although have struggled with this recently in the rise of MAGA. They are very politically effective though, so maybe Gray Tribe can be next gen Koch bros.

I’m on board with that list at the end except I think that Elon’s history is half national hero, half grifter.

Interesting POV! Unsure if Elon should be seen as national hero but fully agree that tech is the only area where the progress is being made anywhere in our industry
