Semi-annual reminder that Aristotle argued the human prime *begins* at age 35 (and runs into 50s). It’s because he appropriately values experience in the formation of character, and character in the achievement of true greatness.

to me the most important is staying in physical shape over my lifetime. I want to make sure recovery is as close to fast as I can keep it. I know 50-70 year olds that are in lovely mental shape, but have to take breaks due to physical conditioning. I feel like keeping physical shape and being able to recover from activities will be the best thing I can do for my quality of life as I age

True prime isn't about age alone, but the growth and refinement of character through lived experiences. But the world we live in now just advocate for people to must have figured out things at their 20s, which is putting pressure on a lot of people

I'm waiting for my 50+ I'm sure it will be great. a minimum of garbage in the head, a maximum of self-understanding and a slightly ironic look at all this fussing youth.

I think his emphasis on the value of experience in shaping character comes in line with the idea that true greatness is achieved through a combination of wisdom and maturity Does that mean, wisdom comes with the age? If so, then I find his argument to be flawed
