nah, that's cope. trains can be a feat of engineering. if America had the same density continentwide, we wouldn't be complaining. in fact, that image above shows a pretty reasonable stopgap. that's like saying good plumbing or electricity isn't praiseworthy. 20th century tech? no thanks.
