Just had a life changing win:

Yesterday I sold an NFT for about $6k and about half of my $DEGEN for $3700 and I’m now officially able to pay off all my debt 🥹🙏

I grew up poor and paid my own way through university (with the help of student loans). Moving cities twice and just overall being bad with money back then, I racked up a lot of credit card debt. Eventually it became insurmountable and when I hit 30 I decided to figure it out. I learned to budget, got a better job…

…and consolidated all my high interest credit card debt into a personal loan. That loan was still at a pretty high rate, cause I had bad credit, so in the pandemic I refinanced for a much lower (floating) floating rate and also took a bit more to create an emergency fund and to help family. As interest rates rose…

…I found myself wanting to get this thing paid off as fast as possible. But we were in the bear market still and I was dealing with other hurdles that ate up my money (I wrote about them in the November and December issues of my newsletter). 

To top it off, I got the TIA airdrop but was so broke I rushed to sell…

…earning under $1k from what would later be worth nearly $20k 😪

When DEGEN happened, I decided I would hold out and that my goal this time around was to pay off this debt. 

The roller coaster of it all made me so nervous that I decided to list my Farcaster OG to help ensure I would do it this time…

…and so, last night my OG sold for 1.98 ETH (didn’t realize Opensea takes such a huge cut though hfs!) and I sold about half my DEGEN. At like 2 in the morning I carefully swapped and bridged and sent to exchange and sold and withdrew to my bank. Only then could I sleep easily, knowing this was finally it 🙏

Thanks! And yeah the OG thing was difficult. One part of me just wanted to keep it priced high. I even ended up cancelling a lower price and increasing a few times. But in the end I need this debt gone so I can have increased financial freedom and take some swings career wise that I can’t do with debt weighing on me
