tl;dr you can’t group people by their generation in any meaningful way. If you could we probably would never have disruption, activism, or change.

The new political game is to use age as the defining way to pit people against each other. 

But, like every one of these games it serves only one purpose, to distract us away from class consciousness.

Race, religion, sexuality, gender, age, political beliefs are not singularly defining qualities. 

In fact the only meaningful group, coordinating to effect negative outcomes on the broader public is the capitalist class. 

Therefore, if you want to direct your anger somewhere, that’s where you should point it.

They become the singular focus of the person targeting you? Sure that’s fair. 
But I was speaking broadly. I’m acutely aware of the intersections of marginalization societally speaking. 

I believe the post made it clear that my point wasn’t these things don’t exist but that they are bad things to hate about anyone. The only people you anyone SHOULD allow themself to be against is capitalists because this is a group that actively wields power and is defined by their perverse incentives against all other groups.

Race, religion, sexuality, gender, age, political beliefs become singular qualities when laws are passed banning these qualities though. 

If you can lose your home, job, freedom, and/or life for being one of these things, then it is all that defines you to the society around you.

Yeah as I pointed out, I suspect this is a process of being broken down over time. Ironically, and tragically, the thing  the thing the counter culture of that era was trying to usher in was freedom from becoming cogs in a machine, which so many of them did later in life.

Great points here and in the quoted thread. Every generation does have its good and bad aspects. But it does strike me that so many of the boomers seemed enlightened and open-minded during the 70s but now mostly seem stubborn, self-centered and frankly brainwashed in my personal experience. 420 $degen

Listen I don’t mind age gating politics but it’s not even fully accomplishing the thing we want it to. A better solution would be term limits and the best solution is liquid democracy. 

The only reason we’re talking about this is because Biden is incompetent. Bernie Sanders is literally older than Biden and no one would be saying the same of him.

A good reminder. It's fine to critique a leaders capabilities but a lot of the comments are just ageism, and like you say there are good reasons to talk crap about these politicians like the actual harm they're causing, focusing on age is a distraction.
