FC frens, help with suggestions, if you may. My wife and I are travelled (active vacation wins; ocean is a must, for swimming, SUP, and surfing. +Mountains). Where would you go for ~1 month or more, from late Nov to Dec? Where have you gone that you wholeheartedly recommend? Ideal range $4K-$10K flights and stay.

I’m a fan of the big island Hawaii. It has varied locations from rainforest to arid. Nice beaches. Lots of great hiking and biking. There’s Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. Volcano national park. If you like active vacations this is the island to go to. Also there’s a Costco

Any Hawaiian island (I went to Oahu and Maui, loved both) + Cape Town come to mind for a great mix of ocean + mountains Cape Town cost of living will be much lower, not sure about flights

A few years ago we went to Tenerife about that time of year. Windsurfing, hiking, etc. it’s Spain but an island, so kinda like Hawaii. We loved it

Indonesia - wet season in Bali but if you’re okay with that there’s good surfing and lots of other stuff to do as well!

Maui is starting to reopen and how their economy went from 8k to 2k people a day coming to visit. Lots of areas outside of ones impacted by fire. Just came back from Chile. In November/December, you will probably have better luck with the weather than we did in September :) We stayed in Santiago and visited Valparaiso. If I went back, I would definitely see the Atacama Desert (north) and Patagonia. You could hit up both and make an interesting trip out of it.

Last fall I spent a month in Alaska. Alaska ferry fr Bellingham to Juneau, AK (3-4 days). Juneau 2-3 days. Flew to Anchorage & took winter train to Fairbanks (12 hours). Flew to Anuktavuk Pass & Bettles for 3-4 days of Northern Lights. Took train back but u should fly back. Then drove around Kenai Penin for 1 wk.

Germany is nice. My wife and visited for 15 days in September back in 2005. We toured the country by train, planning our trip on the fly using public wifi. Awesome experience.
