Did anyone finish Infinite Jest (and why)? One fifth of the way through and it’s such a slog. I started with high hopes after “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men” but it’s not cutting it. Themes I have explored elsewhere, with narrative that doesn’t really flow for me. What am I missing?

Anyone else loving Shogun? I read the book last year and was obsessed. The show brings it to life beautifully

Just watched Poor Things. Easily one of the most original coming of age stories I’ve seen. What I liked was the possibility of constant evolution as a human. To see and experience what’s wrong with the world, but to continue being fascinated by it and not losing hope. Any other fans?

Finished Claudia Pineiro’s “Elena Knows.” It’s among the top three saddest pieces of media I’ve consumed. Hit on a very personal level (ill parent, lack of desire for motherhood). The writing’s beautiful. The feeling of sadness, hard to shake. Curious if anyone else read it and what you think.

Belated recap of @efdevconnect 1. Super excited about new onchain use cases for consumer applications / solving real world problems. 2. Fell back in love with my home city: cats, winding cobblestone streets, and solid coffee spots. What else can I ask for? 🐱

Has anyone has seen David Lynch’s Eraserhead, and wdyt? I’m a big fan of blue velvet, mulholland drive, and the original twin peaks. I attempted eraserhead yesterday, and found it extremely disturbing and inaccessible (even for lynch standards). Stopped after the first half hour. Should I give it another shot?

Training for my first half marathon. I’ve got about four months. Any advice from experienced runners? Things you wished you knew before you ran your first marathon / half marathon?

Looking for my next fiction read. What are books that gave you a new perspective / made you think more deeply about a given topic? All genres welcome :)
