Since today's meta is sharing Farcaster invite stories, here's some tough love for consumer founders: you're probably not schlepping enough.

If you strategy to get more users is to open your code editor, you're avoiding the actual hard thing of talking to users and then having them silently reject you after a few days.

The first version of our Farcaster app didn't work on mobile and didn't have follows, at replies, native image uploads, etc.

Go talk to potential users. A lot.

lol you guys @dwr.eth didn't even invite me to farcaster

i never got a twitter DM, there is no nostalgic "wanna check this out?" back-and-forth email and there was no 15 min onboarding call

i just showed up one day, started casting, and never stopped

i was in EVERYONE'S replies (granted, there weren't a lot of people) asking earnest questions, sharing alternate perspectives, maybe making a joke here and there

that's how you build a social network, regardless of platform

Ok, so now I don't feel bad about relentlessly slipping into people's replies. Ha ha

If ted can do it, then I think that gives us all a pass.

i had only just created a twitter account; it was great for news consumption but bad for engaging with thoughtful people so i wanted to try a different platform. begged my last partner for an invite.

Early-ish :) I slid into @dwr.eth DMs and I am glad I did! Love you all and love how far this journey has led us

same. i messaged him to ask for an invite, and i got in that way. heard about it on a discord server somewhere. 

also, i deleted twitter ages ago, so i can't share any screenos

tried asking twice which is going above and beyond in my little introverted brain. got lucky at last.

met nice people here and never felt like an outcast (haha).
