reading a paper that uses the common sociological measure of network diversity as the of different occupations in which a person has a social tie. eg, do you have a social tie with someone who is a: teacher, lawyer, janitor, engineer, executive, waiter, artist, investor? wdyt it would be for us and/or crypto twitter?

The same, no? Network diversity is the diversity of people you have a tie with. You can play around with this (ie not just occupation, but gender, language, location and not just direct tie but 2nd degree), but it feels similar for a social network. For blockchain (tech) networks it would be different.

This is why building a local community is so important Affinity friendships are great But we are wired for complicated proximity friendships which is usually where those cross discipline friendships come from!

Retail still feels spurned by crypto. Case in point. I convinced my gf to buy Bitcoin at 45k last cycle. She held all the way down, and still held on to the story of it being a "bad investment" even once it hit 60k again (she held it). She still has this reluctance bc she doesn't understand it's actual value

Not totally sure I understand your question. My sense is that more adoption, especially amongst "blue collar" professions, will take place when the Ux is seamless making onboarding a non-issue. Then the floodgates will open and exponential adoption will take place.

Network diversity could be having connections with developers, investors, educators, influencers, regulators, miners, and analysts. It's cool to see how varied our networks can be in this space!

I think it helps to sub divide into sections of the pool. Content creators/ terminally on chain 1-10% probably tighter grouping. Other 90% much wider cross section. Non-power-badge engaging casters subset seems to cast about a much wider range of topics.

It could be percentage of posts per channel. Those are self selected areas of interest. I think the PB barrier to entry may serve to exacerbate the filter bubble of most who have it. It is their own curiosity or lack thereof that determines who they see and others will see.
