random reflection: my mom would read this book to us growing up; so simple, yet so profound i was a v tough kid to raise; my proudest achievement is winning back the favor of my parents + siblings my main motivation is being able to care for my family, parents included, as we keep growing through the cycles of life

In the cycle of life, our family is the bond that unites us at every stage, supporting us in our challenges and celebrating us in our triumphs, reminding us that love and family ties are fundamental to our journey

I remember my mom reading this to me. Was traumatic to think of my parents getting old.

This is the way @ted. I understand there can be real reasons to cut ties, but being loyal to family and wanting to be there for them through it all is such a great thing. I hope my kids feel the same way every day.

Reminds me of this saying that came with a bracelet my mom gave me. I liked it so I keep it in my desk and pull it out when I need to feel them close, living so far away.

Mom used to sing this to me as well. I have a copy at home in Japanese that I sing to my son sometimes. Honestly hard to get through it without a few tears.
